The apostle Paul wrote to the church at Philippi to urge them to "abound still more and more in knowledge
and all discernment" (Philippians 1:9). Surely there is a correlation between what we "know" about God's Word and how we "grow"
as Christians. Peter likewise encourages us to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (II Peter
3:18). Such growth does not come easily, but rather through great diligence on our part as we strive to "handle accurately
the word of truth" (II Timothy 2:15).
The Elders of our congregation take seriously their charge to "feed the church
of God" a healthy diet of both the "milk" and "meat" of God's Word (Acts 20:28; Hebrews 5:12 – 14). The Sunday
morning Adult Bible School classes are textual in nature and are designed to take a student through the entire Bible in five
years. Of necessity, these classes are more "lecture" in format and "survey" in approach. On Wednesday nights, the adult classes
are more topical in nature emphasizing many aspects of Christian living. These classes are often more discussion oriented
and less age-specific. Our Wednesday curriculum also offers a Ladies Class specifically for the women of the congregation.
Our adult Bible School classes offer some of the best instruction in the Bible to be found in any congregation.
Five of our adult teachers are now or have been gospel preachers with decades of experience. Check out one or more of our
adult classes at Piedmont Road. You will appreciate the opportunity they provide for spiritual growth.
